New Content Collective has mainly been me. Sure, I’ll outsource certain tasks to other local freelancers, but it doesn’t happen very often. For the last 3-4 months, I’ve had a some much needed help. At first, she was in the shadows, giving feedback and offering branding suggestions. Then she got her official NCC email (serena@newcontentcollective.com). Not long after, she started managing a client almost entirely by herself.
Now, we’re having her official coming out party! I’d like to introduce New Content Collective’s first official employee on the monthly payroll, Serena.
The best part about Serena is that she comes from NO marketing background. If you think that’s weird, look no further than Google (ever heard of them). Google purposefully hires people with non-tech backgrounds to offer different ideas. So basically, New Content Collective = Google. Seriously though, she’s incredibly creative and offers ideas that seasoned marketers like myself often overlook.
Serena is also excellent at branding (although she would never admit to it). She understands better than I do the power of consistent visuals, colors, fonts, and clear messaging on marketing materials. Instagram is her b*tch.
Last (but probably most importantly) she’s really really really organized. She makes checklists for everything. She tracks invoices like an assassin. She keeps me on task, and focused on my business goals (more on that in the coming months).
So, if you’re another marketing company, let it be known: she’s mine! No poaching!
Oh, and she’s also my fiancé 😉
