WordPress is the world’s most popular blogging platform…. but is it more than that? Before we go into details, get the short answer in our 15-second video below:
The answer to the title of this blog post is NOPE.
WordPress is so much more than just a blogging platform. In fact, would it shock you to know that this site is a WordPress site? It shouldn’t– according to the Wiki page, 1/4 of the world’s most trafficked websites are WP sites.

Why do so many people and businesses choose WordPress? Here are just some of the reasons:
- Looks good– you can create really clean looking, easy-to-navigate, sleek websites
- Easy to use– so simple, even your grandparents could learn how to use it
- Flexible– plugins for days
- SEO-friendly– Google loves WordPress
- Blogging– oh yeah, it’s the best blogging platform in the universe
- You own it– unlike other platforms (cough…Wix…clearing throat), the site is yours
Look… WordPress isn’t for everyone, but it works for most. If you have the funds and ability to create a totally custom site with a killer blog attached (which can still be WordPress), that might be your best option. Just please, please, please, please, please don’t use Wix. Admittedly, we are unfamiliar with Squarespace (Wix’s biggest competition), but you probably shouldn’t use that either. While we’re at it, avoid non-Wordpress drag-and-drop “website builders” like the plague (looking at you, GoDaddy).
