You’re ready to take your business to the next level. You have the quality of your product down pat, but you’re lacking the marketing know-how to get the word out. Assuming you have no interest or knowledge on how to market your own business you have 3 choices really:
- Hire someone to work in-house (not a terrible choice)
- Hire a freelancer or a small team of freelancers (like us)
- Hire a full-blown marketing agency
The answer (kinda) to the 3rd option can be found in our Short Answer video below. Keep scrolling to read a little more about the topic.
The answer is MAYBE or IT DEPENDS, which is hardly an answer, but it’s the truth.
For the record, we might appear to be an agency, but we aren’t. We are a small team of freelancers– no one comes into an official office. Everyone is remote, and some are hired on an as-needed basis. Mostly, it’s just me (Mig) and our Brand Manager Serena. Read more about the reasons why you should hire us, as opposed to an agency, on this blog post.
In general, you should consider a marketing agency if your marketing budget is big enough. Here’s 4 reasons why I say that:
- You get access to an entire marketing team– a team of specialists that are solely dedicated to each marketing category (social media, PPC, design, etc.)
- You can usually get more marketing tasks achieved (make sure to read #4 though)
- A higher budget with an agency ensures you won’t be last priority / near the bottom of their client list
- They will almost always cost more than hiring freelancers or in-house marketers
You might think this is a weird topic for us to tackle. Don’t we want you to hire us? The honest truth is that we want you to hire or choose the right fit for your business– even if it’s not us.
